Fall ringing started at Aras Station (10 August 2009)

Since the weather is a little cooler than previous years, we started bird ringing 5 day earlier. Sedat Inak, who is our ringing specialists are running the station this fall with the help of many volunteer students from different universities all around Turkey. Today we started ringing at the station with the help Güler Bozok, Yiğit Ozan Çolak, Abdurrahman Sefalı and Yakup Şaşmaz.

Today we ringed 27 birds out of 12 species. These species are as follows:

Cetti's warbler
Great tit
Pendilune tit
Savi's warbler
Reed warbler
Greet reed warbler
Red-backed shrike
Little Bittern
Syrian woodpecker
Kingfisher
Wryneck
Water rail
